The Poet

Beneath the surface of the sea, ceasing and becoming

Cease to be. Here is the non-time between moments

Of time that stretches from death to birth. Entering

Here we perfect in wisdom all that we only knew in

The pilgrimage of the flesh. We die to be alive

On the silent side of time.

And dying we are born

Dead among the dead, veils of light, moving through

The shadows of the night … burning … purging our shadows

In the shadows, seeking union with the Virgin Light

That shone upon the waters and willed the stars aflame.

And the unifying light

Encircled by the night, contained in the forms

Of the twilight day of flesh is not consumed by night

But eludes our outward sight throbbing in the hollows

Of our hearts. We are drawn through the night

By the Cause and the Source of light, to be swallowed

Into light and awaken at a new annunciation.
